My partner was in a coma for two weeks due to meningitis when he was 16. for half a week he was in and out of consciousness and this is what he saw in those semi lucid moments.

Saw this pop up on Peter Berkman’s tumblr, apparently reblogging someone else who credits this piece to the wrong person. The true mastermind behind this disturbing, ballsacky Batman is Eliza Gauger. Hit up her Tumblr right HERE.

Amazing!
This is it using the projector and was supposed to be showing me controlling it, but it was a smidge dark… But that’s me to the left with the Korg!
This time it’s AWFUL quality. I’ll upload again tomorrow when I haven’t hit all my limits :)
I should add that the amount of controllers I went through was really quite awesome! I started with the Akai and it broke, then my iPhone it got stolen, the Akai got “fixed” but it still didn’t work in a more broken way.
I also collaborated with Adam Buckley on the music and the loops to use in Ableton were made in Reason.
I was attempting to have a controllable narrative. A story that you could progress and mix up in your own time along a theme. Using colour and imagery in a hand drawn style I wanted it to feel like you would like to go in and mess around with it. Nothing to clean and tidy. I wanted there to be a stark contrast between the Fantasy and reality aspects of the piece. Using the music to punctuate this and react with the characters.
I have learned allot! Mainly not to be so pig headed about an idea. I have changed it so much from the beginning and as I learned more about the technology I adapted to fit in with it. If I could do this project again I would love to create a story but I would not do it with clips. I would have the visuals created directly in touch perhaps more abstract and definitely more controllable. It wasn’t until the last moment I got it to work with the music at a bearable degree but I gave up so much f the interactivity I’m not sure it was worth it. It has given me a whole new way to approach projects also as interactivity is now a real option. As soon as I started experimenting in touch and with my visuals it became clearer very quickly and really makes far more sense now, much thanks to all those that helped me! I think the idea of fantasy elevating the necessary boredom of reality came through pretty well and the music really did punctuate the feeling I was trying to generate. I even abandoned the idea completely at one point and began to collaborate with a friend hoping to use his emotion reading software to try and power it but when I finally gave in it was to complex to really consider at the stage we were at before hand in.
